Here and There

A series of images designed using cut paper, acrylic, and ink to create natural plant forms in an exploration of shape, texture, and space. Based on still life illustrations by Elana’s grandmother, Here and There is a collection of moments in time pieced together to form an echo of memory - fresh cut flowers on the countertop or an evening walk in Spring.

Within this collection of images, Elana uses cut paper and acrylic, and ink to create color-blocked foliage and handcrafted vessels, playing with shape and line. “Vessels” is a reflection on a summer spent under the sun in Southern France exploring ancient ruins, remnants of historical artifacts, and hillsides overgrown with foliage.
